VR is uncharted development territory and there were no doubt a mountain of hurtles they needed to surpass to do this. Props to Bethesda for taking the risk to design, develop, and overhaul to try and give the VR market some momentum. In the big scope of things that is a small issue and I'm amazed that's the biggest complaint for a Bethesda game. Even though something as weird as the control sensitivity in the UI may seem large its just that - a thumbstick bug. Overall I would say it is not bad enough to avoid buying if you were really wanting it, these issues are very minor and can all be traced back to one thing: The thumbstick in the UI. It also seems a little blurry ( Nevermind! ), but I'm sure some ini tweaks will come out in the next few days that will alleviate it The touch pads are a little touchy when moving around the UI (have to flick them fast) and I find the needing to click the thumbstick down to turn a bit weird for front facing, but other than that it isn't bad. My personal review, immersive as hell and is 'ok' on the rift. Won't this corrupt the game or cause issues? No, because steam validates the install directory and will correct any file that does not match the Fallout 4 VR depot, this may be part of the reason 2GB still needs to be downloaded. Why does this make it faster? Because the core art assets such as 3d models, animations, textures, and sounds are all still the same. Let it finish downloading the changes that make it VR: Right click, install game, let it discover existing content: If you are looking to make a mod of this mod, then taking a look at that fomod script file can be a great way to learn about it, as if is there is a packager/tutorial for that, I'm not sure as some of this is decended from Skyrim or something a little further back.Įdited by bbiller, 16 June 2020 - 04:21 pm.Uninstall Fallout 4 VR so it is grey in your libraryĬopy and paste the DATA folder from the original Fallout 4 install into Fallout4 VR folder in "Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 VR" If you need help with where each section is or does in Fallout 4, there are guides for that. The esp file of course goes in that main data directory (that was in your first screenshot on the upper right). That script file has all the dialogue options and the folders they are connected to, so once you decide which options you want, you will need to move the appropriate sections pieces into their correct place in Fallout 4. That script file in the fomod folder is a text document, so any text editor will do, but if you've seen any programming code or an xml file than what is in there will not seem so strange once you can read it. If for whatever reason you want to manually install the mod, than that script file I mentioned is going to be very helpful as well as having the data section of Fallout 4 open with a tree view beside it (failing that writing things down is good as you will need a map of what is where in Fallout 4, which will take you a bit). Now with the easy stuff out of the way, I'm going to get a little technical here, so fair warning. I would advise consult the mod authors page to see exactly what the mod is supposed to do and any conflicts they know of or other needed mods this one depends on. If you need to change some thing, right click on the mod in your manager and run the install script again. If all goes well, the mod will be installed how you need and Fallout 4 will run it correctly. This is extremely, I repeat extremely important. Once the manager has loaded the mod into your list of available mods, activate said mod and the installer script in the fomod folder will run and you'll need to pay attention to what that installer is telling you. That means all you need do is point your mod manager to the zip or rar file you grabbed. See that fomod folder in your list of folders?. Well, in this case you have a little help provided by the author of the mod.
